So, today I am super excited to be able to post my first video entry for the vlogging group that I joined, The Book Buzzers.  There are 7 of us, one for each day of the week, and every week we will have a new bookish topic that we will ramble to you about on our respective days.  Here is the weekly breakdown:
Monday: Jenni (Yours truly!)
Tuesday: Emily from Doodle's Book Blog
Wednesday: Evie from Evie Bookish
Thursday: Justin from Justin's Book Blog
Friday: Tiffany from Escaping One Book At A Time
Saturday: Jessirae from Words, Pages, And Books
Sunday: Amy from Book Loving Mom

This week we are talking about the 5 books on our shelf that we were super excited for, rushed out to get, and then never actually ended up reading!

What books on your shelf were you eager to get but never got around to reading?

Also, please leave some suggestions for topics you would like to see us talk about! Always open to new ideas!

  1. Jenni, you def need to read most of those books. I loved Shadow and Bone. I'm going to be interviewing Leigh this weekend. :D squee!

  2. Love it!!! Great kick off post. OMG I am having a hard time choosing just 5 books from my massive amounts of them. You will see which ones I went with on my day lol!! I think I am going to stick with books I bought this year so that will narrow it down a little.

  3. Great vlog!

I read Shadow & Bone and it was good, but it wasn't one that totally grabbed me. I have Blood Red Road, too!! I got it because of the recommendations and still haven't read it ...

I have Possession, too! I haven't read it yet, either! Nor have I read Daughter of Smoke & Bone ... I hope to read it SOON!

I can't believe you haven't read Divergent!! I will admit that the first one was awesome and the second one was slower, BUT maybe if you read them right after each other, you'll like it more.

    GET READING!

Though, I'm just as bad as you, if not worse. I have TONS of books on my shelves and am slowly knocking them out ... it takes time, but they're all just so pretty!

  4. You must read DoS&B!! I kind of agree about Divergent. Book one was good, but do far I'm not super impressed w/Insurgent.

I have so many books on my shelves. A lot of them are over a year old. I suck.
    Great vlog, Jenni!

  5. I didn't think Insurgent sucked at all. It was very moody compared to the first but it was still worth reading - and I mean, it was moody for a reason, she was PTDS and shit - and the ending was super interesting. I read all of these except for Possession and I loved every one! :D

  6. Ah, that's so awesome that you joined a vlog group! :D I'll definitely be checking out the videos, and I've already subscribed. ;)

I haven't read a few of those either, Jenni...but you totally NEED to read Divergent! :D I absolutely loved the sequel, so don't worry...not everyone hated it! It's definitely different than Divergent and has lots of twists, but I still loved it. :) (I also agree with all of the awesome stuff Giselle said about it above ;D)

I have WAY too many on my shelf that I rushed to get and still haven't read. A Million Suns by Beth Revis (I actually went around to multiple Chapters stores to find this one the week it came out...and still haven't read it. :P), Endlessly by Kiersten White (Wanted the arc so bad, but HC Canada didn't have any, so I had to wait for my preorder to come...and I still haven't read it), Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu (heard AMAZING things about this one, so I bought it online and still haven't read it :P), and The Rivals by Daisy Whitney (Loved The Mockingbirds so I couldn't wait for the sequel. I started the first bit but it was the same as the excerpt I'd already read so I kind of didn't rush into it and still haven't actually kept reading...I think I'll start fresh again later :P). So, those are just a few of the ones I wanted SOOOOOO bad, and still haven't read, and there are way more. I also need to start reading the ones on my shelf rather than buying new ones. :P lol

    Awesome video, Jenni! :D

  8. Book Buzzers!! What a lovely way to share books :)

Watching you helps me feel less guilty about my obsession to buy books but then didn't come around to read them. I also have Shadow and Bone, Blood Red Road, Daughter of Smoke & Bone sitting on my shelf. I've read Insurgent and honestly, I LOVE it and I even bought the audio version of the book. I guess we'll all have our different views on what we love and dislike, and this is what makes reading FUN :)

  10. Awesome vlog! I recently read Divergent, and really enjoyed it. I also still have to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Possession. Shadow and Bone sounds really good :)

  11. Love this vlog idea, Jenni! I'm afraid to look at my shelves and Kindle to see which books I was dying to read but never actually got around to reading... Though I know that Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of them, and so is Insurgent. Though I think Divergent is up for a reread before I read Insurgent. I keep planning to reread Divergent put always put it off. *shrugs* And I can't wait to see what you think of Shadow and Bone! I really liked it, though I read it when I first started reviewing/blogging, so I'm not sure if I'll still like it if I reread it now. And I've had a copy of Blood Red Road for a while now, too, after seeing all the glowing reviews for it. And what makes it even worse is that I have an ARC of Rebel Heart. :-/ Great vlog, Jenni!

  12. Mine is something that I hear often from the bloggers I follow and that is I have a ridiculously huge amount of eBooks I've gotten that I haven't read. I have roughly about 150 or so sitting on my computer, though I am going to take about six or seven off so I can do reviews of them. ^.^ One I haven't read that I will say needs to be fixed is Untraceable since I know the second one just came out. I loved the vlog and can't wait for the next one!

  13. Bahahahaha, Linkin Park!

    More vlogs by you. Yay!

You won't stop buying books. I don't believe this for a moment.

    1) Shadow & Bone - I enjoyed that quite a bit. I don't know if you will. You should read it and then we'll know!

    2) Blood Red Road - SO GOOD!

    3) Possession - I was SO CONFUSED by that book. I hope you like it better.

    4) Daughter of Smoke and Bone - I need to read that one too. I have 2 copies!

    5) Divergent - HATED IT.

  14. Okay, I have to read Blood Red Road, and Daughter of Smoke and Bone. BY THE WAY, I when you were about to say Divergent, I already guessed it. Haha, I think the 2nd books wasn't as great, but the ending was just like "OH MY GOD!!"

  15. Oh, yay, I love these collaboration channels! Your first topic is one that shames me regularly... I don't even want to think about how many books would make it onto my list. Fortunately, I have been able to clear a few unread books off my tbr shelf recently so I'm quite proud of that fact! Looking forward to seeing new videos from you every week!
