Waiting on Wednesday (30)

Linked
by Imogen Howson
to be published March 28th 2013 by Simon & Schuster Books For Young Readers

Elissa used to have it all: looks, popularity, and a bright future. But for the last three years, she’s been struggling with terrifying visions, phantom pains, and mysterious bruises that appear out of nowhere.

Finally, she’s promised a cure: minor surgery to burn out the overactive area of her brain. But on the eve of the procedure, she discovers the shocking truth behind her hallucinations: she’s been seeing the world through another girl’s eyes.

Elissa follows her visions, and finds a battered, broken girl on the run. A girl—Lin—who looks exactly like Elissa, down to the matching bruises. The twin sister she never knew existed.

Now, Elissa and Lin are on the run from a government who will stop at nothing to reclaim Lin and protect the dangerous secrets she could expose—secrets that would shake the very foundation of their world.

Riveting, thought-provoking and utterly compelling, Linked will make you question what it really means to be human.
How awesome does this sound? A twin she had no idea existed, phantom bruises, and running from the government? I am so there!

  7. This actually isn't new at all >.< I've heard of this premise before, in Lindsay Lohan's I know who killed me, (I believe that's the title name) It was exactly as this, her character didn't know she was a twin, the twin would get beaten, cut hurt you name it, and the other would receive the same pains >.< Still, it's an awesome pick, and I'm definitely looking forward to reading it :)

  9. Wow! This sounds amazing, and that cover is just absolutely breathtaking. Stories about twins, especially told like this, just fascinate me (which reminds me, I have a galley about twins that sounds like this that I really should read, considering the book was published months ago), so I'm definitely looking forward to this, now. Great pick, Jenni!

  11. LOVE THE COVER! However, it kind of sounds like umm.. One of the few horror movies I saw when I was younger. I think Jessica Alba was the girl who got surgery on her eyes (she was blind before) and then she experienced some weird things through someone else's eyes. This book doesn't sound exaclt the same, but it sound kind of familiar, though. Thanks for sharing!

  23. This sounds really cool. The thing is that there are a lot of documented cases where twins are able to experience phantom feelings when the other twin is in an extreme situation. I love that someone is exploring that a bit. :)
