The Book Buzzers (3)

This week The Book Buzzers are talking about the 5 books that we think everyone should have on their shelves.  I had a tough time with this one, I'm not too sure why, but I am attributing it to the fact that the answer changes weekly for me. So here you go, enjoy me babbling aimlessy (and mostly off topic) for 5 minutes.

Do you agree or disagree with my choices? What books do YOU think everyone should have on their shelf?

  1. I actually enjoyed Catching Fire, but Mockingjay - yeah, I was pretty disappointed with the ending as well. I know this book couldn't have a HEA, but I just wanted it to be not so freaking depressing. Also, I wasn't mad about the choice Katniss made, but I was upset because she didn't communicate with the other one. It just made me extremely sad and frustrated. Hahaha and with Twilight, I have the exact same feelings. Exactly the same.

On my part, as soon as I read Vampire Academy series, oh. my. god!! I knew I needed to have all of these babies on my shelf and now that I have them, they're so great to look at. And I pick them up every now and then and even if I don't read the whole series, I go through every book, find my favorite parts and re-read them. They're just tha freaking amazing!

Also, To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite book ever! It's so amazingly good, I could go on and on for days about how much I adore it, but yeah, this book is on my shelf as well and I couldn't imagine it without it.

I don't know how you did this haha, because all I can think about is Harry Potter and yep, HP in addition to the previously mentioned books and that would be it. I wouldn't say Twilight is a must-have-on-my-bookshelf, but I think it's one of these that almost every blogger out there has.

So my choices right now would be: THG, HP, VA and the other two continuously change.

Enjoyed your video and hope there're more to come, have a lovely day, Jenny!

  2. I don't think I could do this topic. Haha.

I've only read one Stephen King book: Carrie. I was not impressed, but I don't think it's his best.

Hunger Games: awesome! What do you think should have happened? Catching Fire was my favorite!

IwaV: I could not get through that.

Twilight: I do give Twilight credit for getting me into reading YA. Yup.

Crewel: ehhhh. You know my thoughts. I just wanted to kick all of the characters.

    BAHAHAHA, tilting your glasses.

I have no idea how to answer that one either, so...I'm not going to!

  3. I am having such a hard time with this one. I am going to end up cheating again I know it. I have a few books set out, but I keep thinking of other ones. I just can't pick!! Ugh!! You did a great job!

Twilight is on my list too. I picked that up after finishing the last HP book and I needed something, anything to give me anything close to the love I had for HP so I picked up Twilight and I just loved it!! I have re-read the Twilight series like 5 times actually.

  5. Ooh ... I'll have to try out that Stephen King book! I really like his short stories.

Definitely yes for The Hunger Games! And I agree with you over Mockingjay ... the ending was just a little too clean cut.

I've never read Interview with the Vampire!

I loved Twilight. It got me into reading and I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. It's not the best writing, but like you, it got me into reading YA! I also don't think I would've gotten back into blogging without that series. WE ARE KINDRED SPIRITS!

This is such a subjective thing -- my favourites change weekly, too, and what I like isn't necessarily what YOU would like (as we've noticed). And you're so right, the top 5 books we think others should have on their shelve are our favourites for so many different reasons!

    Great vlog, Jenni, as always!
