Hello!
So this week I only have two physical books and a slew of ebooks so I decided not to do a vlog for this weeks post. I went on an ebook buying spree on Amazon because I decided to rage against Chapters and take my business elsewhere. Too often I have tried to go to one of the 5+ Chapters/Indigo locations in my city on a books release date only to find that it is not available and still in transit. To me, that is ridiculous! I mean a book has a release day for a reason and those days are so exciting for book lovers. Way to rain on my parade Chapters! So here is what I got:
I was so excited to find a The 5th Wave at Costco and The Eternity Cure at Wal-Mart so both were under $12!

The Eternity Cure is so damn pretty under the jacket I just had to show you. I wasn't a huge fan of The Immortal Rules but I am hoping that this one has improved (or I may have just bought it because it was so pretty!)
eBook Haul (click cover for Goodreads):

Also, from my sister from another mister (Giselle of Xpresso Reads) I got this pretty!
She loved it so much and thought I would really enjoy it, so thank you G! You rock!
So what did you get this week? Link me up!

I just reviewed Losing it today. It was one of my favorite NA's so far bc it doesn't have abuse and tough issues in it! I just bought Sweet Peril today and can't wait to read it!! I hear OCD was funny too. And looove the design of The Eternity Cure.
ReplyDeleteYou got The 5th Wave? Why did I think that it hadn't come out yet? And your Costco must be the coolest Costco ever! Just saying. Ours has a pretty lame book section. Though I did get The Selection and The Elite there last week. You also got some awesome ebooks! Yay!

Loved The Eternity Cure! Dying to read 5th Wave. Life After Theft was good and I also got Sweet Peril. Happy Reading!

Game. Set. Match really intrigues me since Giselle and Andrea really loved it. I'm a big tennis fan and hot guys? Come on! Who doesn't like thatttt ;) The 5th Wave is THE book at the moment - everyone's reading (and loving) it. I should get on it soon. Sine TEC wasn't that expensive, you get a free pass if you end up hating the book and just got it because it's pretty :D haha. It's really pretty, indeed! I hope you still like it though:) Have a great weekend *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThat IS a pretty cover of The Eternity Cure! I also grabbed Sweet Evil while it was cheap - love a good bargain ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Ahh, I absolutely loved The 5th Wave. One of my fave reads of the year so far. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting when you find books early!! I'm reading The Fifth Wave right now! And I had decided to pass on Eternity Cure (Immortal Rules was a little scary for me) and gave my ARC away, then got another one. So I think that means I should read it :)
ReplyDeleteYou can find me here: Jen @ YA Romantics
Very nice. I hate when the book stores don't have the books you want on release day. It's frustrating to say the least. I really enjoyed The Eternity Cure.
ReplyDeleteGrace
I'm excited to read The Eternity Cure. I really want to read The 5th Wave and Game. Set. Match. Happy reading! :)
ReplyDelete- Christie @ The Shadower's Shelf
I actually loved The Immortal Rules, I can't wait to read The Eternity Cure! The 5th Wave actually looks really good as well. Happy Reading!

Great books this week, Jenni! I went on a book buying spree on Barnes and Noble too this week, but I completely forgot to get a copy of Game.Set.Match. Oh well, I might wait for some time to buy one. I also bought Sweet Evil. (I seriously don't know why since I didn't love the first book)
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your lovelies! Happy reading!
I wasn't a huge fan of The Immortal Rules either but I thought the Eternity Cure was better. Christina just finished it and had a lot to complain about though, so I don't know. But I hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for a finished copy of The 5th Wave. I just can't WAIT to read that one.
Wow! The Eternity Cure looks gorgeous! O_O It makes me want to buy it just for that reason even though I have an e-copy LOL! I hope you like Sweet Peril! I haven't read it yet but I'm a little nervous since I've heard the beginning is a bit 'meh'. :(
ReplyDeleteMy Stacking the Shelves
So green about 5th Wave, can't wait to get my hands on a copy. OCD, The Dude and me is AWESOME. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, now I want to get a physical copy of The Eternity Cure even more! (I got it from Netgally and it was fantastic to me)
ReplyDeleteAnd I really want Sweet Peril!
I hear you about release days. Here in Switzerland it's a hit or miss with books anyway. Sometimes they show up half a week before the official release date, but often you have to order them in because of limited shelving space. Even at the one 3-story, English-only book store we have in Zurich.
Anyway, enjoy your new goodies :)

Yay to finding cheap books! Boo to stores not having books in on their release dates, it happens here, too :/
ReplyDeleteI have Bruised and have heard awesome things about it :)
Great book this week. I can't wait to read The 5th Wave. Enjoy your new books. :D
ReplyDeleteJenea @ Books Live Forever
Great haul! I'm reading the 5th Wave right now, too. I liked Life After Theft and really want to get my hands on Game Set Match. Happy reading! Enjoy your new books!

The 5th Wave!! Jealous!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about Chapters! I live in Toronto and in the downtown core "business section" there are 3 Chapters/Indigos/Coles and it's RARE they have the books on release date. Sometimes I go and the boxes are piled until the wall (this is on my way home from work at 5pm) and they said they haven't gotten them unpacked yet. Ummm... what?! A lot of the young adult books they never get, but I always see the adult releases on release day. it's a bit biased. I've started to slowly shop elsewhere as well, but still use them when I can only because I paid for my irewards membership. I'll likely be using Amazon and Bookcloseouts more though. I'm "glad" that someone else feels like this because I felt like nobody understood :S lol.
ReplyDeleteYour book haul is awesome! I really enjoyed Losing It although it was a bit too much like Slammed for me to TOTALLY love it, but it's still a great book. And I just added Game. Set. Match .. where have I been to be oblivious to this one?! lol. I hope you enjoy all your reads this week :D
Lauren @ Lose Time Reading
All of them look like such good books! I keep meaning to read Kagawa's series but I haven't gotten to it yet ... I'd be interested to hear what you have to say about Life After Theft. It's a really interesting concept to me. A story about a girl ghost, but it's not scary -- at least not what I hear about. Great haul!
ReplyDeleteAwesome haul!! I need to finish The 5th Wave!! Lucky you found it!! YAY for Sweet Peril, cannot wait to start it!!

Someone else has Bruised! Woo! I don't have it, but I really want to read it. It feels super untalked (new word. like?) about. I also want to read Game. Set. Match. I have OCD, the Dude, and Me checked out from the library right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading Life After Theft right now and like it fine. It's pretty interesting. I hope you enjoy all your books (:
You got a finish copy of The 5th Wave earlier?! That is so cool. I'm dying to get my hands on a copy. The same thing goes for The Eternity Cure and Game. Set. Match. I hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteDAAAAAMN. They should have made the cover for The Eternity Cure what's under the dust jacket. I'm officially IN LOVE. I just finished The Eternity Cure and it was slower than the first, but still good. Not sure if you'll like it more than TIM though. I'm about to read Giselle's review of Game Set Match!! Sounds super good. AND OMG, LOSING IT! SO SO FUNNY. I hope you love Bliss. And I really need to read Sweet Evil so I can get Sweet Peril! Awesome haul!!! Hope you enjoy <3
ReplyDeleteOhh The Eternity Cure is so pretty under the jacket!! Love that! I just finished it and thought it was awesome! And yay for getting The 5th Wave early!! All of your ebooks look fab too. I loved Sweet Peril and Losing It!!! I'm actually reading Faking It now! :) Awesome haul chick!
ReplyDeleteJenni, amazing haul. I'm looking forward to The Eternity Cure and the 5th Wave, I've already got an ebook copy of The Eternity Cure, but nothing as pretty as yours :)
ReplyDeleteMy STS
Have a great weekend!
S;ELTKJGSDFG I wanted to get the 5th Wave but I just went to the EPL book sale and got like 5 books so I knew my mom was going to yell at me if I got another book. LOL
ReplyDeleteSome idiot at Costco put a gigantic book over the Sarah Dessen books and I freaked out when I saw them for 7 FREAKING DOLLARS. But I couldn't get them.. ):
I agree about chapters. I feel like it takes them an extra week to get new releases!
ReplyDeleteGreat haul! The 5th Wave looks amazing :)
The Eternity Cure really is SO pretty under its cover! I may have to get it just to look at its pretty cover on my shelf. xD Also, I'm pretty much dying for The 5th Wave at this point. I've heard such fantastic things and I can't wait to pick it up!! I'm sorry that Chapters has been sucky for you, but hey, at least you have some shiny new e-books! I'm super excited for Sweet Peril, since I surprisingly loved Sweet Evil. I can't wait to see what happens with Kai and Anna! I've also seen some great reviews of Bruised, so I'm going to have to get my hands on a copy of that one.
ReplyDeleteLovely haul, Jenni! Happy reading. <3
-Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life
Oooh... the 5th Wave! My copy should be on it's way soon, I can't wait to dive into it. Hoping I love it as much as everyone else. The Eternity Cure is gorgeous! I wasn't a big fan of Immortal Rules either but Eternity Cure was completely worth it. Hope you think so too. :)
ReplyDeleteMy Showcase Sunday
Love that cover for the Eternity Cure! I wasn't a fan of the first book in the series, but it's quite eye catching. :) And yay for going against Chapters/Indigo! It's very frustrating to only see certain new releases out on release day and have to wait for others. OR only one store in the city gets a certain book. I'm trying to not buy so many books, so I'll be getting more from my library ... less frustration that way!
ReplyDeleteawesome find on the discount books! i have the eternity cure (loved the immortal rules) i hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Haul
I haven't read the Immortal Rules yet, but book two's cover alone is a whole reason to read it and then purchase book two. Haha. Way to #fail Chapters. Looks like you're continually lucking out at Costco!
ReplyDeleteI want to read Losing it myself. Sounds like so much fun. Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteHere are my newest additions
The cover of The Eternity Cure is absolutely beautiful! I recently bought the Immortal Rules, so hopefully I'll enjoy it. I hope you enjoy everything. :)
ReplyDeleteKrystianna @ Downright Dystopian
SWEET PERIL!!! YAY! I hope you like it Jenni! I've heard The 5th Wave is unbelievably good, I definitely need to pick up a copy for myself. Aliens are typically not my thing, but with all the rave reviews coming in, I need to make an exception. Can't wait to see what you think!
ReplyDeleteYou finally got Sweet Peril! Hope you love it. Lots of hot swoony Kai moments but you have to be patient because Wendy pulls a ‘New Moon’ on us.
ReplyDeleteLosing It was awesome. Not my favorite NA but I really liked it. Funny, cute and awkward in a good way. I really want to read Game. Set. Match because of the reviews. Enjoy your books!
What?! That's really shitty for Chapters over there! We only have one here but I've never encountered that...although I've been favoring just going over to browse and coming home and ordering whatever I wanted online (Amazon/Book Depository) LOL Anyways fantastic haul, The Fifth Wave & The Eternity Cure (pretty!!) I really need to get into the Sweet Series too, congrats on all of these Jenni - Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteOoh that Eternity Cure is gorgeous! I need to get the real thing, in only have an ecopy. Can't wait to hear what you think of The 5th Wave and Bruised! I loved them both. Happy reading :-)
ReplyDeleteSO excited to hear what you think of The 5th Wave, Jenni--I hope you are still enjoying it! Boo to bookstores who don't get their shipments on time. They're just asking for trouble. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to GSM, too--it sounds like a ton of fun.
