Stacking the Shelves (41)

Hey everyone!

So I have been having major sync issues with my vlogs lately and have decided that until Apple comes out with a fix I am going to be filming the videos on my iPad. Less of a headache this way and I don't want to smash my computer.  Because I am filming the videos on my iPad I won't be able to show you my ebooks so I'll be putting the covers below and linking them to Goodreads.  This is why the video looks a little different this week! I'm thinking that maybe the reason it's so skinny and tall is because I recorded the video with my iPad standing up vertically, next time I will try it horizontally and see if it will fill up the screen. But anywho, I didn't want to let the sync issues make me stop vlogging because I love doing it, so bear with me please!

  1. I love how you invariably go off on a tangent in all your videos.

Anyway I can't wait to see what you think of Crash. I am a huuuuuuge Lisa McMann fan. I loved her Wake trilogy, but the book that really sealed the deal was Cryer's Cross. She has another one, Dead to You, which I think you'd really, really like, since you love dark contemporaries so much.

Also, don't feel bad - I haven't read Legend either (though my mother has, which makes me feel even more out of the loop.)

  4. I don't mind the iPad one:) And I love your vlogs so much so I'd be happy if it was out of sync as long as you're doing them, lol. LOL Giselle's Touch of Death review was hilarious, I hope you have better luck with it IF your read it, haha. LEGEND AND PRODIGY YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *goes crazy* I like the new cover better *sigh* hate the cover changes, but yep, it was a good change. Oh, and you got Anna and the French Kiss? Hmhhhh.. I hope you'll enjoy it, I really do. I think I gave it 5 stars. The hype ruined it for me I think. I was expecting a fantastic contemporary and it was just ok. Nothing new, all the drama made me roll my eyes and I didn't feel the chemistry at all. It was cute though and I want to visit the City of Lights more then ever, if that counts. Happy reading, Jenni and have a great weekend! *hugs*

  7. OMG you're so little in the big video window!! I just won a signed copy of Touched so I hope that I like it. I liked the audiobook of Crash, but I think that the book would have drove me nuts!! The shoe thing... maybe they were thrown away and fell out of the trash truck! The Unearthly series is so pretty!! I loved Legend!! I need to get Prodigy. It stayed synched the whole way through! Yay!! Great haul babe!!

  9. I agree that lost shoes are sad. I also get sad if I see forgotten mittens! I saw one on the bus yesterday and I felt bad because it won't see it's mate again and now the person will have one cold hand!

Wow, the books you got from Giselle all sound good (except maybe Touch of Death and the one that looks like Twilight). I hope you enjoy them!

  10. YES. I love that everyone is starting the Unearthly series. And Reese Malcolm List looks so cute. What is it about pink covers with swirly font that I cannot RESIST?

    Enjoy your books!

  11. Anna and the French Kiss and The Princesses of Iowa... don't know why but these two covers always bring a smile to my face when I see them. Hope you'll enjoy reading them :)

  14. Jenni! How come you've never read Anna? :O
I really really hope you end up loving it as much as I did! Yay for Legend and Prodigy! OK so I wasn't a huge fan of the first book, but most people were!
Enjoy your epic book haul, Jenni! :)

  16. LOL I die at your shoe story!

Bwahaha Touch of Death is now invading your house! Muahahaa. It will probably murder you in your sleep. And... ok so how does Marie Lu look like either pronunciation, when they both have the same spelling? BAHAH. This is why I love you!

  17. I am SO JEALOUS of the Madman's Daughter! I want that one so bad for some reason. I think it's because I really like all of those original classics in that time period! Great haul! Happy reading!

  18. I hope that you like Crash. I am convinced that I will like that one too. I loved The Madman's Daughter. It was hauntingly awesome.
We are always saying that about random shoes. Really... Have you ever lost a shoe?
    Enjoy your reads.

  19. Nice haul, Jenni!

I've had Anna for a year and a half now, and still haven't read it! And I'm excited to read Reece Malcolm List.

  21. Oh I totally get the shoe thing - I always wonder HOW that happens - even random gloves just dropped make me feel sad - there's a glove somewhere missing its partner!

I should really read a Stephanie Perkins book soon - although I say this all the time and still don't do anything about it!

Enjoy all your books, can't wait to see the Cynthia Hand series all together next week ;-)

  22. Hi, Jenni!

It's too bad that you're having sync problems, but this video was fine. I do hope you can get the next one to fill up the entire screen, but I still enjoyed watching this one! Your commentary is interesting and funny!

What a haul you got!! (Can you see my green face from over there? I probably look like that witch in "Wicked". Lol.) It was nice of Giselle to send you all those books. They look AWESOME. I'm dying to read the following: "Touched", "Unearthly" (yes, that cover is GORGEOUS), "Legend", "Prodigy", and "Anna and the French Kiss"!!

Thanks for another very entertaining "Stacking The Shelves"!! :)

  28. I really need to read the Marie Lu series! I've heard so many great things about it. Though, I remember taking the first one out from the library and the font was a weird colour -- that's usually a turn off for me. And yay for Anna and the French Kiss! That one is uber happy and sweet ... are you sure you can handle it? :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anna and the French Kiss was so cute.

So, Long Lankin. It's a pretty slow starter. But you have to give it a chance okay? Because if you are patient, it is AWESOME. I am worried you won't like it. :D

  30. You're so narrow! :-p At least you have the iPad.

It really doesn't seem like you and Giselle disagree all that often, but I hope you do on Nobody. It will be fun too see whether you like any of the ones she didn't. Ugh, I hate McMann's teen books.

The way you say Iowa and Barroclaugh make me laugh so much. Also, I like the drinking game idea. And how you called her name delicious. Probably the window was down and a little kid threw their shoe out the window just because. Or there was death.

Why do the books you order never show up at the same time even when you order them at once?

You'll like TDM a lot! Also Legend and Prodigy, I think. At least you make good decisions about the books you purchase!

Mary Lou sounds country. Marie Lu sounds better. *shakes fist*

  31. Heh, how nice of Giselle to pawn her terrible reads off on you. That's the mark of a true friend. I'll be curious to hear what you think of them! Still need to read Unearthly and Legend, so that I can also be caught up with the hype.

  32. Squee! So many killer books!! I'm eager to read both The Madman's Daughter and Crash (even though the latter has been getting meh-reviews). I'm a huge fan of the Wake Trilogy so I'm still holding out hope. Happy reading :)
